Marketing and Communications Coordinator (F/T)
The Cassandra Hotel is currently seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Marketing Communications Coordinator. Located in the historic Collingwood area, it is an independent hotel that is in the process of re-branding. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for redefining the Cassandra Hotel brand and ensuring consistent and cohesive messaging that speaks to the community at large.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing best practices in brand message deliveries
- Monitoring and refining brand messages
- Generating demand for products and services through various communication channels, such as blogs, hotel websites, social media
- Engaging and assisting customers in content creation and content uploading
- Attending trips to local restaurants and community events
- Organizing events for customers and local businesses, such as customer appreciation days
- Representing the hotel in trade shows and exhibitions
- Assisting in the design, execution and maintenance of hotel marketing plans
- Coordinating with customer service personnel and management teams in a variety of marketing activities
- Responding to and managing online reviews
- Incorporating web analytics into marketing materials and communications
- Manage customer loyalty
- Working to achieve revenue targets with other team members
Qualifications
- A degree in Communications, Business, or Hotel Management is preferred
- Students who are working towards a degree who meet the criteria below will be considered
- Previous work and experience with social networking
- Knowledge or interest in the hospitality/service industry
- Experience in producing communication products such as releases and brochures
- Solid asset management skills with a database-oriented mindset
- Willing to attend industry conferences, galas, events, and exhibitions
- Knowledgeable in copyright and model releases
- Photo and video editing software skills are a plus
- Enthusiasm for branding, new media, Web 2.0 and social networking
- Proficient in Office applications, such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Must be a Mac user
- Knowledge in desktop publishing, CRM, CMS, Dreamweaver, CMS required
- Knowledge in metrics, analytics, SEO, SEM, Adwords preferred
- Availability to work on rotating weekends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Creative writing skills with the ability to interject humour
- Tasteful and sophisticated design sense

- Ability to remain calm and organized while multi-tasking
- High level of professionalism and friendliness
