Laurier School    English 4/5/6         9:00am to 11:30amLaurier School    

English 1/2/3        12:20pm to 2:50pm

  • All classes run from Feb 2 or 3 to June 17 or 18
  • Level 1 students must have very basic reading skills and understand basic English
  • Level 6 students are preparing for Grade 10 English
  • Classes are open to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents and Refugees only – no international work visas
  • Reading and writing assessments will be required of new students
  • A $20 course fee will apply

Canadian Fitness Connection 新移民运动小组-Downtown

It’s a 12 week course with workshops and fitness activities to help new immigrants get healthier while also learning more about Canadian cultures and systems. Participants also receive a free 12 week YMCA membership while in the program. The program takes place on Saturday afternoons here at the Robert Lee YMCA. Participants should be Permanent Residents.
The next course is for men and women and is starting on Saturday January 4. Applicants have to complete and send back an application form to me – accessed here-  http://www.vanymca.org/cs/pdf/cfc_app.pdf
There are 20 spaces on the course. The first spaces are for immigrants who have been in Canada for the shortest period of time. The course is taught in English- CLB 3 and above is recommended.

  1. support our Kids Club program in Kits. Duties include assisting with/leading activities for the children (5-12 years) and snack prep. (Mon/Tue 2-6pm or 3:30 -6pm)
  2. support play group program for children birth to 5 years, whose families/guardians are able to connect while their children play together. Duties include assisting with set up/clean up, tea/coffee/snack prep and organizing craft activities for the children. (Mon 9am-12pm)

**A criminal record check is required if you are over 18, we can help with that.
